Aetello makes GCG drain the bitter cup!

In what was effectively a quarter-final of sorts, Aetello held their nerve to finish off GCG in a tight encounter. Aetello raked up a 7-0 lead before GCG settled down to even scores at 7-7. Following this, the match saw the momentum shift either way with the next few boards going like this:13-7,13-15,21-15.
Bitch was in vintage sledging form,sweet-talking Nut into committing errors which on any other day would've been bread and butter(or in his case, sheep and goat) for Nut. Nut was also making brutal attempts to re-write the laws of physics. He whacked coins so hard they decided to switch allegiance from Newton to Nut with coins flying all over the place and into the pocket. How Newton must have turned in his grave. He also took a couple of scalps in the form of innocent by-standers who didn't duck fast enough when panic-stricken coins projectiled onto them. Con and Slow contented themselves with pocketing a few coins here and there, whilst making disapproving noises about the Depression quotient of the songs being played.

With the score at 28-21,for a moment it looked, incredibly, as if GCG would steal victory from under Aetello's noses by pocketing queen and havng just one coin on board while the board still resembled Black Sea.But fortune favored Aetello with Bitch calmly finishing off the proceedings.

MoM:Bitch-FuFy for staying composed when Nut-FuFy deemed it effective to revisit his roots and and emit high-pitched squeals as Bitch was preparing to take a shot. Uncomfirmed reports say the said squeals are an ancient battle-cry among Nut's ilk, which roughly translates to,"You took my queen, now I will make you eat your bed-sheet". This decidedly spurred on Bitch who then proceeded to hit a quite stunning rebound cut which all but ended GCG's hopes of making it to the semis.

Aetello conquer the RAJputs!

On account of short term memory loss and the superior history re-writing skills of the RAJputs, only the result of this match will be recorded in the annals of history. For the record, Aetello beat the RAJputs 29-27. The rest is lost to posterity.

DoubleDuty outclass SuGu

It was the much-anticipated meeting of the top two teams in Pool A. Or was it? What was expected to be a closely fought affair turned into pretty much a whitewash as the ex-Thunder Tigers were in ferocious form against an unusually hapless SuGu.

The match swung wildly, with DoubleDuty taking the first three boards, getting 5 points on the first, and then a huge 11 points, and finally 6 more, to take them to an unassailable lead of 22-0 to the shock of the audience that had assembled there, who couldn't believe that SuGu were taking it up the a** this way; that too from another team, and not from each other as is common.
At this critical juncture, Knurd and Black had a brief conversation:

Knurd: "??"
Black: "???"

The next board saw something truly remarkable, something not seen before in FPL history, and something we doubt will ever be seen again.
BlackFufy breaks, pocketing 2 whites, and following it up with 3 more.
HeavyDutyFufy plays. Pockets a black.
KnurdFufy plays. Pockets the queen, and the remaining 4 whites.
Game over. 13 points from one board.

It definitely looked like a mammoth comeback was on the cards, as SuGu won the next two boards, bringing the score to a 22-22 tie.

However, those expecting a spirited fight were let down, as DoubleDuty pulled out all the stops, slowing down the game, and refusing to give SuGu any room to re-enter the game, winning the match in the next two boards.

The end of the match saw widespread jubilation at the (eventual) fall of SuGu. The two teams still remain at the top of Pool A however, and are looking forward to the semifinals against the teams from Pool B.

MoM : SnakeFufy, for playing brilliantly, and (f***ing yet AGAIN telling HeavyDuty what to do for every single shot, who followed his orders perfectly..yet again!!)

Quotable Quotes:
(Post-match):

BlackFufy to Knurd: "You Suck!!"
SnakeFufy(overhearing the above): "Ha ha ha.....No SuGuing today huh?....(more evil laughter)..."

SuGu spank the Kundis

In their second match of the day, SuGu defeated Kundi Shot 29-0, earning yet another bonus point. In a match that completely belied its scoreline, SuGu had to fight for most of the boards against the sublime beauty of FatFufy's shots, all of which drew "Ooohs" and "Aaaahs" from the crowd assembled.(except MiserFufy, who remained silent throughout, and was later sent away for not exclaiming when he was expected to).

SuGu entered the match expecting a very close battle, but luckily for them, Condy was not his usual self, quivering like a very large jelly before every shot, and making up for the Fat one's brilliance. BitchFufy did try his best to help, by chanting slokas before Condy's shots. But even that could not stop SuGu's determined march to the score of 29 within 6 boards.

This match also witnessed a heated debate between FatFufy and BlackFufy about the scoring rules to be followed in the case of a burn, which ended with FatFufy hovering over BlackFufy, jabbing at him and calling him "RETARD RETARD" many many times. Although KnurdFufy was slightly worried for his beleagured partner at this stage, his worries were soon laid to rest as SuGu came together in a display of supreme team-effort to seal yet another comprehensive victory.

MoM : FatFufy, for many shots that were worth an "Ooooh" and "Aaaaah", even from MiserFufy, and BlackFufy, for performing well in the face of FatFufy's (f)ire.

Quotable Quotes: "RETARD! RETARD! RETARD!" (You know who said this to whom....)

SuGu club IE(EE)

In their second match in FPL v.2, SuGu maintained their previous standards against the newly inducted team of IE(EE), consisting of TDF/DespoFufy and MiserFufy, who are still familiarizing themselves with the Fufy lifestyle, which does not include work of any kind, dealing with juniors, college administration and the like.

The first board was pretty tense, with DespoFufy pocketing a shocked queen, but SuGu managed to win it 2-0, and from then on, things proceeded smoothly, with SuGu winning the next 4 boards, and with it, the game. DespoFufy, who was beginning to get the hang of things, managed to rattle his own team-mate more than the opposition by keeping up a constant stream of encouraging words, and praying for several seconds whenever he thought he was playing particularly life-altering shots. He also tried all possible positions, (with the exception of standing on his own head), before playing shots, to make up for MiserFufy, who only moved one of his eyebrows by 1/8th of an inch, in the course of the entire match.

With this 29-0 victory, SuGu moved one step closer to the top of Pool A taking a bonus point along the way, and a possible semifinal berth.

Quotable Quotes:

DespoFufy: (to a highly amused KnurdFufy) "Try to toorsu that one!! L**** k* b*** !!"

RAJputanas rule

RAJputs started their FPL2 campaign by scoring a thumping victory over Sutta boys! It was a clash between the underdog and the champion team of Pool B.

RAJputs started the match very confidently by securing the first two boards and racing away to a 14-0 lead.
That was the time when dumbassfufy got upset and started sledging to upset DASAfufy who was playing very quietly to maintain his concentration. Thus using 'mental disintegration' policy Sutta boys made a comeback of sorts by getting 13 points in the next two boards.

In the crucial 5th board Sutta boys burned the board and gave us free 9 points and thus lost their focus in the match.Having got the momentum , hotspotfufy and DASAfufy finished the next board by getting 6points and won the match 29-13! to the delight of the FPL audience.
MOM: DASAfufy for maintaining his composure throughout the game
At the end of this match RAjputs were the team to look out for in the future and Sutta Boys lost their aura of invincibility!

Kundi Shot rises from the ashes

The wait is over ! Kundi Shot have finally reached the magic number 29 in a carrom game.
It was a battle between two teams who desperately needed a win to restore belief in their ability. Kundi Shot and the newly formed Amaravagali were looking for their first wins ever.

Amaravagali got off to a flier , scoring 9 and 6 in consecutive boards to race way ahead before Kundi Shot even realised what was happening. But an inspired FatFufy singlehandedly brought Kundi Shot back into the game in the next three boards to edge past Amaravagali 17-15 at the end of 5 boards. By this time DullFufy had joined Condyfufy with jittery fingers. FatFufy continued his blitzkrieg on Amaravagali taking Kundi Shot to 25-15, making it 25 consecutive points for them.

But the game was far from over. MiddleAgeFufy fought hard to bring Amaravagali back into the game at 25-22. At the end of the next two boards , Amaravagali had made a remarkable comeback to tie the game at 28 apiece.

The two teams played the last board under a lot of pressure with people peeping in from all angles . In a hard fought board Fatfufy managed to keep his cool and guided Kundi Shot home. At the end of the game Kundi Shot have got some belief back while Amaravagali have a lot to ponder.

Man of the Match : FatFufy , for singlehandedly guiding his team home.

Double Duty beat Amaravagali in a cliffhanger

In one of the most remarkable comebacks witnessed in FPL history, Double duty came back from trailing 9-28 to winning the game 29-28 against Amaravagali. The game started off with Amaravagali winning the first board by 9 points. However,Double Duty came back immediately winning the next board with 6 points. At this point, Amaravagali started pocketing coins with ease and galloped away to a score of 28-9 within no time.

Then, an incredible fightback was witnessed by the sparse crowd as Snake Fufy directed HeavyDuty Fufy to some delicate cuts, which were executed to absolute perfection by the latter. Snake Fufy's strategy of not opening the opposition's coins worked brilliantly and totally frustrated Amaravagali. This was evident when Middle-Age Fufy started screaming in the middle of a board for apparently no reason whatsoever. An hour later, the game score had become 22-28 as Amaravagali had now become very nervous with Dull FuFy not being able to pocket any coins due to extreme pressure. HeavyDuty Fufy played some delightful shots in the next board to make the score 28-28.

With shivering hands, all the FuFys started playing the ultimate board, with a mission to win the board, and thus the match. And aptly, the board had to end with a single white, black and queen coin remaining. Middle-Age Fufy missed a couple of chances to finish the game and SnakeFuFy took advantage of this mistake as he completed the most memorable fightback giving DoubleDuty a very hard-earned 3 points.

This win puts Double Duty at the top of Pool A and leaves Amaravagali languishing at the bottom.

MoM: SnakeFufy for playing intelligently, sledging slightly when required and playing delicate shots precisely under pressure while guiding his team-mate superbly throughout the game.

Sutta Boys defeat GCG in a nail-biter

The Sutta Boys defeated GCG 29-28 making it 2 wins in a row and showing once again why they are the favorites from Pool B . The Sutta Boys raced off to a 15-0 lead thanks to some very good pocketing by both UppiFufy and BassFufy . The GCG group consisting of ForeignFufy and SlowFufy then regrouped and won a series of boards earning 2-3 points since the queen was taken by Sutta Boys each time. However by the 10th board , GCG had extended their lead to 11 points as the score stood at 26-15 . Then the Sutta Boys played a superb board and won 8 points. The score stood at 26-23. ForeignFufy came into his own in the next board and GCG won the board getting 3 points. The score now stood at 28-23 in favour of GCG. GCG just needed to win the board and the Sutta Boys needed to win with the queen. Sutta Boys quickly pocketed 6 coins . However at this juncture ForeignFufy missed an easy chance to pocket the queen which inturn was done successfully by BassFufy. Then BassFufy needed to make a rebound to win the game. A lot of time was spent on the last shot . However the rebound was made and GCG defeated.

Highlights: 1. BassFufy: "Maga, this is the most tense I have ever felt in an FPL match."
2. SlowFufy to ForeignFufy : " Eh , Make some shots atleast da. Please"
3. The GG exchanges after the game .

MoM : BassFufy for keeping his cool under pressure.

Sutta Boys start in Style

They say that revenge is a dish served best in cold, and Sutta Boys did just that as they avenged their loss to Aetallo in the opening edition of FPL. Aetallo opened the scoring, with ConFufy in great nick and ably supported by BitchFufy.

Sutta Boys came into their stride once the early nerves were settled, DumbassFufy and UppiFufy comfortably pocketing coins. Midway through the game, there was a hint of a comeback from Aetallo as the score stood 18-15 in favour of Sutta Boys. From this point, Sutta Boys stamped their class, as they romped home to victory, with a huge point difference of 14.
Final score: 29-15 to Sutta Boys.

Sutta Boys have made their intention of going for the title very clear and the rest of the teams in the group have to play catch up with them.

Kundi Shot's run of misery continues

After regular practice in the off-season, the new improved Kundi Shot entered the arena for the first time in FPL 2. Both FatFufy and CondyFufy had made rapid strides in their game hoping to challenge the best in the business. On the other had SnakeFufy and HeavyDutyFufy had found other ways to spend time, atleast till 9:30. Hence "Thunder Tiger" is now "Double Duty".

KUndi Shot were still looking for their first win in FPL, the only team not to win a single game. And quite appropriately they finished at the Kundi of the table in last season's FPL.

And so the match began , with the entire college watching it in their rooms through the newly introduced Webcast ( Hawkeye and HotSpot to follow) . Double Duty stormed into the lead winning the first board by 10 points to none. Kundi shot were struggling but soon fought back bravely in the next 4 boards with some impeccable clearing by FatFufy. After 5 boards the newly installed scoreboard read 24-13 in the favour of KUndi SHot.

CondyFufy and FatFufy were sensing there first ever win in FPL history. But !@#$$% Double Duty had other plans. HeavyDutyFufy's executed SnakeFufy's plans to perfection bringing them back into the contest thrashing Kundi SHot in successive boards to make it 20-24 and 28-24.

Kundi Shot just couldn't believe what was happening to them. It was deja vu. Double Duty were quick off the blocks in what was to be the last board of the game leaving the hapless Kundi Shot to surrender to SnakeFufy and HeavyDutyFufy for the second time.

Final score : Double Duty 29-24 Kundi SHot

Man of the match : SnakeFufy , for bringing the best out of HeavyDutyFufy

Kundi Shot play newly inducted IE(EE) next hoping to open their account. Its long overdue
now.

SuGu beat Amaravagali 29-25

FPL 2 began with Sugu showing why they were one of the favourites to win season 1 as they deservedly won against the SVM Combo of Middle-Age and Dull Fufy. The match began at rapid pace as SuGu won a big board with 9 points. Amaravagali then made a comeback of sorts winning the next board with 6 points, but Sugu always had the upper hand and after some time were leading by 19 points to 10. At this point, Dull Fufy showed incredible form and played some great shots to get Amaravagali a lead; the score was 25-19 in favour of Amaravagali. But in the next 2 boards, it was business as usual for SuGu who steamrolled their way past their opposition in one board and then, Middle Age Fufy burnt the next board to hand SuGu a very valuable 3 points. Can Sugu actually win FPL Season 2? We'll just have to wait and see!

Man of the Match: Dull Fufy, for that one shot which got the entire crowd cheering for him.
