We left behind FatFufy, who was bravely toiling away at the Graduate Retarded Examination, trying to remember if ponderous meant –clumsy on account of being massive, or to think a lot.

(For the non-GRE, it means the former. This was my “Monk” word when I was studying for GRE myself  )

We were asked to assemble at the Satellite Bus Stand by 3 PM by our Manager, Operations, but anyone who has travelled with Knurd knows that a half-hour delay is inevitable. So leave we did at 3.30, boarding a Rajahamsa, much against the dire warnings of BitchFufy. We later realized how true he was, when our bus trundled on painfully slowly, repeatedly being outstripped by slum-children running behind rolling tyres. The only good part of this was the amount of leg-space the bus provided, a fact thoroughly appreciated by Condy, who usually has to fold himself several times to fit anywhere.

With the Fufys catching up for the first time post-IPL, thejourney was used to describe each match seen in great detail, unanimously denounce the performance by Akon as well as the terrible SA President Jacob (Monte) Zuma. The conversation was a lively as ever, and soon turned to namma NITK, and its yearbook. The latest edition, and its esteemed Joint Editor (PrematureFufy) were discussed at length, and it was agreed that the Timepass Section was without a doubt, the highlight of the book. While Dumbass chose to bask in the glory of having written that, Fireball went on to commend the Travel section. The following bit of dialogue ensued:
Fireball: “Travel section was too good da maga! Exsilent!”
Other Fufys: “Ya ya.. Too good too good..”
Condy: “How was Food section?”
Other Fufys: “????”
Fireball: “That was also..good right?”
Condy: (volume going sky-high) “There was no Food section you jackass! Have you even read the damn thing!?”
Other Fufys: *rofl*
Fireball: “Oh…No trick questions man!”

After a general lull in the conv as the Fufys slept off (Fireball continued to read “The Curious Incident of the Dead Dog”), Dumbass sat observing the other fellow-travelers on the bus. Seeing that some people in the front were using sign language to communicate, he gets all excited.
Dumbass: “Ey look da maga! They’re playing DC!”
Knurd: “No. That guy’s deaf.”

Dumbass lives upto his name yet again!

Several hours later, and several phone calls by a supremely (un)concerned BitchFufy, who kept calling to laugh at all of us, and Dumbass in particular, we reached the ancient town of Mysore. While Knurd went away to down a quick large one with one of his aged relatives, the rest of the gang trooped to their place of residence for the next 4 days – FufyMansion.

“Mathru Chhaya”, No.182, 10th Cross, 3rd Stage, Gokulam, Mysore, is a palace. 3 floors, 4 massive bedrooms (all with attached bathrooms-one with a tub, others with tissue paper, room freshener, Pantene, random soaps all in place), one garage to play football, a gazebo in the making on the terrace, plasma TV with surround sound…..as ConFufy put it –“Best thing to have happened to mankind! Take it!”

After dinner at Nalpak(more on this later), the Fufys went back to the mansion. While Bitch prowled around with 8000 keys trying to unlock the place, Dumbass and Fireball went away to get the booze. The Fufys whiled away the time till midnight, when the Champions League Final was scheduled to begin. Not Dumbass though. He drank, messaged someone, and smiled. He was going to spend the rest of the night doing these three things, hardly watching the match, not playing garage-football, taking his phone along for his fag-break… We wondered what was happening….Shady…

The match began at the scheduled time, as did the boozing, Gandhi joining in with a glass of coke. The Fufys were divided into two camps, the Barca fans – Con, Condy, Bitch, Fireball and Knurd(?), the ManU fans – Black, Dumbass and Gandhi.
The match was, as anyone who saw it will agree, a great one, but what will remain with the Fufys for the rest of their lives was the performance that followed the match.
After the match, ManU supporters – Black. Barca supporters – the rest.

A thoroughly inebriated Blackfufy went on the rampage, rolling around the floor and moaning around about how ManU deserved to win, failing to acknowledge that they had just been beaten black and blue by Barca. He then began cornering one Fufy after another, and subjecting each one to lengthy, meaningless discourses about his beloved team, and why they deserved to win. (When Dumbass was cornered, he messaged, drank, and smiled).
This horrible show was to continue for a good half-hour, with the Fufys seeing no way out from this black death. When he began having disagreements with the furniture at FufyMansion, BitchFufy decided enough was enough, and called upon Knurd to put a stop to this menace. Knurd was finally able to quell his darker half, and peace was restored to the Mansion.

Dumbass and Gandhi then started fussing around about how they had to go back home the next morning. While Gandhi said he’ll try to convince his parents even though he had legitimate reasons to return, Dumbass would have nothing of that kind, having no discernible reason whatsoever to return. Very shady yet again…Why so keen to get back to Bangalore?

We'll leave you on that enigmatic note, and be back with more on the next installment of...Mysore Musings!

Viva la Wonder La!!

Hail Fufys!

It all began when CondyFufy dashed off a mail declaring May 15th as the day when Fufy Reunion 2.0 shall be held at Wonder La. What with CondyFufy and WebFufy (hereon referred to as Capt.Fufy) threatening to take Fufys to task for shortage of attendance, people responded with lightning speed confirming their participation in the meet. After 48 posts on a single thread, a highly bored and hyper-enthusiastic Fufy gang finally packed their bags on the morning of the Ides of May and headed off to Wonder la.

The battalions arrived in the following groups - the Banashankari Bais DullFufy, KnurdFufy and TechFufy, MalleshwaraMachhas ShiverFufy(or is it FufyAjji?), CaptainFufy, UppiFufy, GlassDoorFufy and FundaFufy, Nagarbhavi Narasimhas Lord Condyfufy, BitchFufy and ShataFufy, Jayanagara Jollies MissingFufy, SlowFufy, SnakeFufy, GandhiFufy and MiddleAgedFufy and finally the Indranagar Idlis ForeheadFufy and LostFufy (the duo were even dressed in gladiator uniforms which left the others simply beyond expression!).

All battalions finally arrived by 12 noon. Condy however, arrived prematurely at 10.40 itself, even though Wonder La itself opens at 11, and fumed and frothed while he waited for the others. The gang then changed into the suitable gear and with CaptainFufy at the helm of affairs, the team headed off to conquer Peak 0001 – Y-Scream, FufyAjji going supersonic before we even reached the first ride! The queue to this ride had some extremely enthusiastic chetas from HeavyDuty’s native land, and seemed to consist of 30 of the most obnoxious people who had ever put coconut oil in their hair. These godforsaken animals, from God’s Own Country, kept screaming “Viva la Rassa!!” for reasons beyond us, and the name of one of their tribe was Rosha, which turned out to be a girl! Quite boisterous and lively she was too! Sometimes, a single letter can make all the difference. ;)

However, we were not to be outdone at screaming, since we had with us the secret weapon from Telangana/NY – the one and only FufyAjji repeatedly going out of the hearing range of humans, with “Gooooo YenAiTeeKaaayyyyy!!” and “Gooooooo Fuuuuuuuufyyyyyy” war-cries. Once the giant Y-Scream began flapping its arms around in the air, the entire world turned upside down. Er, literally. Our man CondyFufy was the only one who kept his cool and kept waving at random people. He didn’t as much as bat an eyelid when ForeheadFufy and ShiverFufy were directly above him (upside down of course) and the two compartments were flying in mid air.

Next came peak 0010 –The Maverick. If Y-Scream had you dangling upside down in mid- air two people at a time, the Maverick decided to do it to the entire bunch of about 20 people, twisting them diagonally as well. Naturally, all the Fufys rushed for this one as well. By all, we don’t mean Middle-AgedFufy, who developed cold feet at the last minute and chickened out, missing the ride to fool around with his Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham glasses, a souvenir of the Goa(Jai Infantaria!!) trip. With dik-chik dik-chik mujik to add to the effect, the Fufys were all in quite a daze after coming down from peak 0010. KnurdFufy and BitchFufy tried a “Viva la LANKA” chant while on the ride, but after sometime, when things got really wild, just held on and screamed for dear life.

Disorientated, and with bloodshot eyes, the brave-but-not-yet-battered Fufys headed towards the next challenge – Ground 0011 or The Hurricane, which looks like a giant three-bladed fan. Bah, a walk in the park, thought the Fufys. About 3 minutes later, most of them (except FufyAjji of course) were left speechless. Not because of the beautiful sights they saw while battling the Hurricane, but because they were screaming their asses off while the fatal Hurricane grabbed them and swirled them around mercilessly. Reminds us of the time when little HoFufy (she was dearly missed at the battle zone) supposedly swung a poor dead bunny rabbit,( a friend’s pet) over her head and sent it flying far, far away, never to return. This will also be remembered as the ride in which ShataFufy nearly passed out, and LostFufy was found in her seat at the end of it all, with her eyes closed and muttering prayers in a low voice.

Breathless and tired were the Fufys but not quite finished yet. Their spirit was simply indomitable. Slowly but steadily they trudged along to the toughest part of the battle – conquering Point 0110. Aptly named Insanity, that’s exactly what this one proved to be. Ruthless and insane. This one was a monstrous four-armed giant of a robot with four fingers to each arm where the Fufys took position. Each arm and finger began moving independently, turning, twisting and swiveling in every direction possible, tossing the poor Fufys into air like the contents of an egg-whisk. GlassdoorFufy was found in the adjacent seat by the time the giant robot decided to stop for a breather. Nevertheless, true warriors that the Fufys are with a never-say-die attitude, they didn’t just conquer it once. They did it again and some of the braver ones even said Bring-it-on for a third time. DullFufy even finished writing a complex piece of code and managed to debug it as well by the time he was done with Insanity. Bravo, bravo Fufys!

It was now time for some grub before the Fufys launched their attack on all the strongholds in the water. First came the water pendulum. After a lot of intense discussion regarding strategy, ‘weight’ mechanics and wave motion, and the discovery that FufyAjji outweighed GlassdoorFufy by a good 6 kilos, the Fufys split themselves into pairs to take on the giant water pendulum. Not surprisingly, the ‘heavyweights’ SlowFufy and MissingFufy emerged as champions, with Team Gults and Team PowerPuffs coming a close second and third respectively.

Next came the tricky part- tackling all the passes to the major sea points. After a long wait, the Fufys finally managed to push ForeheadFufy into taking down Twister – one of the major passes in the arena. What ForeheadFufy thought will be a ghastly journey to her watery grave turned out to be quite a pleasant ride indeed. The Vertical Fall was another spot where the Fufys used all their navigating skills and emerged winners all the way. The highlight of the day was undoubtedly CondyFufy joining a poor unsuspecting couple in a big tube and ending up quite embarrassed.

If heights couldn’t take us down, then what can some measly waves in a pool do, huh? Well the wave pool proved to be much more than just that. TechFufy, MiddleAgedFufy and ForeheadFufy, having had a taste of the wave pool earlier tried in vain to warn fellow Fufys. TechFufy also had had an unpleasant experience in the pool earlier on, when a fat, bald man in a tube shot through the water aiming straight for his privates. While he esaped unscathed, he couldn’t help a laughing fit that came on suddenly, and had him and all the other fufys convulsed for a good ten minutes.

Enter the wave pool - The entire army fought bravely despite being pushed back with every wave. As the waves got bigger and stronger, so did the resilient Fufys. 20 minutes later, the waves gave up and began receding. This was the moment the Fufys had been waiting for since morning. There was revelry all around. BitchFufy got so excited; he even tried to ‘sink’ ForeheadFufy by pulling her down from underwater. KnurdFufy got his usual dose of NeerYemme bath, and also tried a Underwater TripleLift with TechFufy and GlassdoorFufy, while DullFufy got so carried away by the Fufys’ victory that he was found disoriented and upside down in the wave pool.

Tired and exhausted, the Fufys went on a victory lap and commemorated the win with a second visit to some of the earlier peaks. Then finally, following the brave CaptainFufy’s orders, they decided to retire for the day. After changing out of their gear and a cup of hot coffee(read WonderLa gutterwater) and a light snack, it was time for the Fufys to retire to their respective quarters. The heavens above decided to give the day the perfect end with a cool shower under which the Fufys parted ways, promising to meet up for another very exciting venture very soon.
What a day it was, fellow Fufys! I salute all those who made the day so enjoyable. For those who missed it, there’s always a next time!

Memorable Moments and Quotable Quotes:

Bheemboy’s Beamer @ Lunch -
This was FundaFufy giving advice on how to face your fears: “….. Its ok!.. I mean.. You can keep your eyes open. Just don’t look at anything that’s all. Its all relative anyway….”

Why LostFufy is called LostFufy -
LostFufy(absentmindedly picking at her sandwich)to KnurdFufy: “So who’s Bheem Rao?”
KnurdFufy(taken aback): “You don’t know??? The tall one in glasses, next to Kushagra, that thin dude who’ll head to the loo in the next 5 minutes.”
LostFufy: “Aah. Right..”
A few minutes later,
LostFufy(now putting some KissOn(!!?) sauce on her sandwich): “And the green shirt is Bunty, and the blue one is Bellur?”
KnurdFufy(stupefied): “Yes!!”

Fufy Word of the Day – FATHOM
After one go at the Vertical Fall, GlassdoorFufy(bouncing around wildly): “Abbe yaaaaar!! That was unbelievable!! I cannot just fathom what has just happened!!”
Naturally, the rest of the Fufys picked on him endlessly, and decided that every ride after that was just as un-fathomable as that one. :)

Waves @ the Wave Pool –
LostFufy, who had lost a 10 Rupee note(knocked off her head by Knurd), was looking for it, when FundaFufy comes up to her: “Hi! I’m Aditya Bheem Rao. I don’t think we’ve had a chance to speak before.”
And with that began pool-socialising, which went on for a good 10-15 minutes, watched from afar by a silent BitchFufy who nearly died laughing watching this tango for two.

What a day it was, fellow Fufys! We salute all those who made the day so enjoyable. For those who missed it, there’s always a next time!

The Fantastic Fourth: Rise of the Super Sister

Greetings fellow Fufys!

Firstly, a rousing Hi5 to all those who could make it to Wonder La on Friday! As the various status messages later that day/the next day made it quite clear, it was a day to be remembered indeed.
Between repeated bouts of Insanity and trying to "sink" ForeheadFufy at the Wave Pool, it was a very fun day indeed, but more on that in a separate post that Forehead and I will begin work on soon...very soon..

Things had been a little dull on the Fufying-at-home front, what with ToxicFufy hardly proving to be a worthy opponent, and MaFufy never taking any game too seriously, and always putting making gallons of Coffee/Tea/Bournvita for the rest of the players above her matches, Knurd's hopes of having high-energy tournaments dwindled. Until one fateful post on the Fufy group changed it all.

Sifting through the material, you may find a recent post by MiddleAge(he really needs a new name!), about how the rules of carrom have changed(that post goes on to elaborate those changed rules). MiddleAge also remarked that this was like a 20-20 version of Carrom, something that immediately caught my attention.

All it took for Knurd were some snide remarks about woeful shotmaking, and some more taunts about blaming poor skills on vaastu and the wind, to get ToxicFufy to try out the new format.
And so it began - Fufy Home League - The Twenty20 Version.

The Kings XI vs Deccan Chargers was going on as well, so both Toxic as well as Knurd were thoroughly distracted throughout the match. That being said, the match proceeded, and I would go on to take the first "Set" quite comfortably(12-0). (For what a "Set" means, refer MiddleAge's post)
After this, ToxicFufy lost all hopes, squandered some really good opportunities of making comebacks and handed the second set to Knurd, thereby ending the first Twenty20 carrom match played here quite prematurely.

Knurd was slightly disappointed at things having ended so quickly, and was wondering what to do, which is when it happened.

The Sister arrived, showing a keen interest to get in on the game. A weary ToxicFufy was only too glad to give up his place and toddled off to dinner. The Sister(yet to be christened) arrived, severely out of touch, professing that she hasn't played for years, and that this would be a disaster. Knurd, smug in the knowledge that victory was certain, indulged her, telling her that she might even beat him, who can ever tell?.. and so on and so forth.

All perfectly brother-sisterly you think? Think again!
Within two boards, the score read 16-0, in favour of the Super Sister. Sister, who seemed to be in remarkale form, pocketed her coins easily, while Knurd struggled to put away even the biscuit-est of shots, and "oota"ed so many times that had he been a witness, Uppi/EarthFufy would've wept with joy. At this point, KnurdFufy decided that the time was over to be nice to out-of-touch players, and to play as he usually did.

After some very close boards, which saw the use of loud and well-timed screaming, giggling and board-shaking courtesy Super Sister, Knurd managed to withstand it all, and bring the game to a 22-27 scoreline, in favour of the Super Sister.

To no avail. :(
Pulling out all the stops and tossing fair play right out of the window(my coins would all "accidentally" get pushed behind my baseline whenever she tried to play, which would mean me wasting hours trying to rebound all of them to a playing area while she swiftly cleared coins), SuperSister countered everything Knurd threw at her, and sealed the game in the next two boards.

Well..defeat certainly came from the most unexpected adversary to KnurdFufy, who has been greatly humbled by this. But he is not too worried yet; there are many more rainy days, and many more games to be played.

Quotable Quotes:

KnurdFufy: (after losing 11 points in a board) "My GOD you're still good!"
SuperSister:(arranging coins for next board) "Hmm. You're clearly still bad."
KnurdFufy:(in an undertone) "@#$%^&^$#$@#..."

KnurdFufy:(trailing 22-28, one black, one white, one queen left on board) "Don't think its over! I'm the King of Comebacks!"
SuperSister:(after Knurd has burnt the board to give her the win) "Sure. You can come back tomorrow. We'll see then."

Kronikles of the Knurd: The Bored, The Bald and the Bargain

Greetings fellow Fufys!

I hope this post finds you all in states of good health, but I know this post will actually find you all in states of varying degrees of boredom. Well, upon returning from college, I found myself in a similar state, and decided that swift action had to be taken.

The day after I returned, I managed to convince my dad that what was preventing our home from becoming the ideal home, and a home that would be the envy of one and all was a good, new carrom board. After about ten minutes of skilful coaxing, cajoling and subtle blackmail, we were off to the sports shop(an entirely new experience to me I must say!) to try and locate the right board. It was not as easy as I expected it to be though. The rates are simply astronomical (one bloke quoted 1450!), and the boards were none too great. After making a few phone calls to the sports secretary of the college in which my esteemed parent works, we managed to find a shop that was guaranteed to give us a bargain.

And so we went to this great little place, (which was also selling "Honex" badminton rackets), and found the perfect board! Larger than the Fufy board, it immediately caught the eye. After I picked the board, the coins, powder and the striker, I went away to the side while the bargaining went on. After a few high-pitched shrieks and several "Illa Sir! Saadhyane illa!!" from the shopkeeper, we walked away with the entire set costing us a decent 900 bucks.

We returned home, triumphant with our victory over the shopkeeper, and broke in the new board.

We tried to create the perfect atmosphere too. Setting it up on the balcony, loud music playing from my room, and some good KF Premium to go along with it.

A little background story about my esteemed parent first - He was the one who taught me to play, is damn good at the game, and has not played since I was around ten, at which age I was an awful sport, and used to scream and bawl everytime I lost, and on one memorable occasion, threw water on the board so that no one else could play.

Back to the present then!
The match began, with Dad in great form, winning the first two boards to take the lead 12-0. I had to take a few calming swigs of beer and get myself together at this point. I came back with a thumping 13-point board to even things out, and keep the match alive. The next few boards were all close affairs, with Dad playing as dirty as possible, and me trying to get as many flukes in(it was my only way out!). In the end, the score read a respectable 29-15, in favour of yours truly.

Not content with this, Dad(now christened as ToxicFufy, for employing digestive diversionary tactics in the previous match) asked for a rematch. I was only too glad to oblige.
KnurdFufy vs ToxicFufy - Match 2.
Toxic was not happy with his seat in the last match, blaming the vaastu of the arrangement, and the breeze in the balcony, which, according to him, only affected his coins. (??)
Anyway, he began this match in great form again, with some stunning rebound shots(he's very good at those), and had KnurdFufy tearing out his hair, by hexing his coins, sneezing just before shots, and cackling loudly whenever Knurd failed to cover the queen. However, I once again managed to overcome all the odds, thanks to several untimely double-dues put by Toxic, and managed to win 29-22. Things were getting closer...

In the third match, ToxicFufy was a force to reckon with, and I was stretched to the maximum limit. With Toxic still employing all the negative tactics at his disposal, I had to block all my senses except my vision and focus on the game. After several missed opportunites on both sides, and a very excited audience(Mom) for the last few boards, I finally prevailed 29-27. Toxic blamed my supposedly baaaad playlist, which apparently disturbed his concentration. I disagree. The playlist was really good. He also said the beer was bad, which was also a lie. It was brilliant!

We're on a break now, with Toxic taking time out to rethink strategy, and me out to get my Buntyed phone back to life.

Quotable Quotes:
(Knurd plays beautiful shot #1)
ToxicFufy: "Beautiful!!"
(Knurd plays beautiful shot #2)
ToxicFufy: "Sexxxy!!"
(Knurd plays beautiful shot #3)
ToxicFufy: "That, was sheer pornography."

Memorable moment:
ToxicFufy trying to do something special, and hitting a coin into the next house.

Well, that's all for now fellow Fufys! Will return with more match updates as and when they happen. I wonder, if a Rao Family Cup is possible. This of course, depends on MiddleAgeFufy, and his Mom, of whom we've heard so much. Let's wait and watch! :)

Aetello makes GCG drain the bitter cup!

In what was effectively a quarter-final of sorts, Aetello held their nerve to finish off GCG in a tight encounter. Aetello raked up a 7-0 lead before GCG settled down to even scores at 7-7. Following this, the match saw the momentum shift either way with the next few boards going like this:13-7,13-15,21-15.
Bitch was in vintage sledging form,sweet-talking Nut into committing errors which on any other day would've been bread and butter(or in his case, sheep and goat) for Nut. Nut was also making brutal attempts to re-write the laws of physics. He whacked coins so hard they decided to switch allegiance from Newton to Nut with coins flying all over the place and into the pocket. How Newton must have turned in his grave. He also took a couple of scalps in the form of innocent by-standers who didn't duck fast enough when panic-stricken coins projectiled onto them. Con and Slow contented themselves with pocketing a few coins here and there, whilst making disapproving noises about the Depression quotient of the songs being played.

With the score at 28-21,for a moment it looked, incredibly, as if GCG would steal victory from under Aetello's noses by pocketing queen and havng just one coin on board while the board still resembled Black Sea.But fortune favored Aetello with Bitch calmly finishing off the proceedings.

MoM:Bitch-FuFy for staying composed when Nut-FuFy deemed it effective to revisit his roots and and emit high-pitched squeals as Bitch was preparing to take a shot. Uncomfirmed reports say the said squeals are an ancient battle-cry among Nut's ilk, which roughly translates to,"You took my queen, now I will make you eat your bed-sheet". This decidedly spurred on Bitch who then proceeded to hit a quite stunning rebound cut which all but ended GCG's hopes of making it to the semis.

Aetello conquer the RAJputs!

On account of short term memory loss and the superior history re-writing skills of the RAJputs, only the result of this match will be recorded in the annals of history. Or was it? What was expected to be a closely fought affair turned into pretty much a whitewash as the ex-Thunder Tigers were in ferocious form against an unusually hapless SuGu.

The match swung wildly, with DoubleDuty taking the first three boards, getting 5 points on the first, and then a huge 11 points, and finally 6 more, to take them to an unassailable lead of 22-0 to the shock of the audience that had assembled there, who couldn't believe that SuGu were taking it up the a** this way; that too from another team, and not from each other as is common.
At this critical juncture, Knurd and Black had a brief conversation:

Knurd: "??"
Black: "???"

The next board saw something truly remarkable, something not seen before in FPL history, and something we doubt will ever be seen again.
BlackFufy breaks, pocketing 2 whites, and following it up with 3 more.
HeavyDutyFufy plays. Pockets a black.
KnurdFufy plays. Pockets the queen, and the remaining 4 whites.
Game over. 13 points from one board.

It definitely looked like a mammoth comeback was on the cards, as SuGu won the next two boards, bringing the score to a 22-22 tie.

However, those expecting a spirited fight were let down, as DoubleDuty pulled out all the stops, slowing down the game, and refusing to give SuGu any room to re-enter the game, winning the match in the next two boards.

The end of the match saw widespread jubilation at the (eventual) fall of SuGu. The two teams still remain at the top of Pool A however, and are looking forward to the semifinals against the teams from Pool B.

MoM : SnakeFufy, for playing brilliantly, and (f***ing yet AGAIN telling HeavyDuty what to do for every single shot, who followed his orders perfectly..yet again!!)

Quotable Quotes:
(Post-match):

BlackFufy to Knurd: "You Suck!!"
SnakeFufy(overhearing the above): "Ha ha ha.....No SuGuing today huh?....(more evil laughter)..."

SuGu spank the Kundis

In their second match of the day, SuGu defeated Kundi Shot 29-0, earning yet another bonus point. In a match that completely belied its scoreline, SuGu had to fight for most of the boards against the sublime beauty of FatFufy's shots, all of which drew "Ooohs" and "Aaaahs" from the crowd assembled.(except MiserFufy, who remained silent throughout, and was later sent away for not exclaiming when he was expected to).

SuGu entered the match expecting a very close battle, but luckily for them, Condy was not his usual self, quivering like a very large jelly before every shot, and making up for the Fat one's brilliance. BitchFufy did try his best to help, by chanting slokas before Condy's shots. But even that could not stop SuGu's determined march to the score of 29 within 6 boards.

This match also witnessed a heated debate between FatFufy and BlackFufy about the scoring rules to be followed in the case of a burn, which ended with FatFufy hovering over BlackFufy, jabbing at him and calling him "RETARD RETARD" many many times. Although KnurdFufy was slightly worried for his beleagured partner at this stage, his worries were soon laid to rest as SuGu came together in a display of supreme team-effort to seal yet another comprehensive victory.

MoM : FatFufy, for many shots that were worth an "Ooooh" and "Aaaaah", even from MiserFufy, and BlackFufy, for performing well in the face of FatFufy's (f)ire.

Quotable Quotes: "RETARD! DespoFufy, who was beginning to get the hang of things, managed to rattle his own team-mate more than the opposition by keeping up a constant stream of encouraging words, and praying for several seconds whenever he thought he was playing particularly life-altering shots. He also tried all possible positions, (with the exception of standing on his own head), before playing shots, to make up for MiserFufy, who only moved one of his eyebrows by 1/8th of an inch, in the course of the entire match.

With this 29-0 victory, SuGu moved one step closer to the top of Pool A taking a bonus point along the way, and a possible semifinal berth.

Quotable Quotes:

DespoFufy: (to a highly amused KnurdFufy) "Try to toorsu that one!! It was a clash between the underdog and the champion team of Pool B.

RAJputs started the match very confidently by securing the first two boards and racing away to a 14-0 lead.
That was the time when dumbassfufy got upset and started sledging to upset DASAfufy who was playing very quietly to maintain his concentration. Thus using 'mental disintegration' policy Sutta boys made a comeback of sorts by getting 13 points in the next two boards.

In the crucial 5th board Sutta boys burned the board and gave us free 9 points and thus lost their focus in the match.Having got the momentum , hotspotfufy and DASAfufy finished the next board by getting 6points and won the match 29-13! to the delight of the FPL audience.
MOM: DASAfufy for maintaining his composure throughout the game
At the end of this match RAjputs were the team to look out for in the future and Sutta Boys lost their aura of invincibility!

Kundi Shot rises from the ashes

The wait is over ! Kundi Shot have finally reached the magic number 29 in a carrom game.

It was a battle between two teams who desperately needed a win to restore belief in their ability. Kundi Shot and the newly formed Amaravagali were looking for their first wins ever.

Amaravagali got off to a flier , scoring 9 and 6 in consecutive boards to race way ahead before Kundi Shot even realised what was happening. But an inspired FatFufy singlehandedly brought Kundi Shot back into the game in the next three boards to edge past Amaravagali 17-15 at the end of 5 boards. By this time DullFufy had joined Condyfufy with jittery fingers. FatFufy continued his blitzkrieg on Amaravagali taking Kundi Shot to 25-15, making it 25 consecutive points for them.

But the game was far from over. MiddleAgeFufy fought hard to bring Amaravagali back into the game at 25-22. At the end of the next two boards , Amaravagali had made a remarkable comeback to tie the game at 28 apiece.

The two teams played the last board under a lot of pressure with people peeping in from all angles . In a hard fought board Fatfufy managed to keep his cool and guided Kundi Shot home. At the end of the game Kundi Shot have got some belief back while Amaravagali have a lot to ponder.

Man of the Match : FatFufy , for singlehandedly guiding his team home.

Double Duty beat Amaravagali in a cliffhanger

In one of the most remarkable comebacks witnessed in FPL history, Double duty came back from trailing 9-28 to winning the game 29-28 against Amaravagali. The game started off with Amaravagali winning the first board by 9 points. However,Double Duty came back immediately winning the next board with 6 points. At this point, Amaravagali started pocketing coins with ease and galloped away to a score of 28-9 within no time.

Then, an incredible fightback was witnessed by the sparse crowd as Snake Fufy directed HeavyDuty Fufy to some delicate cuts, which were executed to absolute perfection by the latter. Snake Fufy's strategy of not opening the opposition's coins worked brilliantly and totally frustrated Amaravagali. This was evident when Middle-Age Fufy started screaming in the middle of a board for apparently no reason whatsoever. An hour later, the game score had become 22-28 as Amaravagali had now become very nervous with Dull FuFy not being able to pocket any coins due to extreme pressure. HeavyDuty Fufy played some delightful shots in the next board to make the score 28-28.

With shivering hands, all the FuFys started playing the ultimate board, with a mission to win the board, and thus the match. And aptly, the board had to end with a single white, black and queen coin remaining. Middle-Age Fufy missed a couple of chances to finish the game and SnakeFuFy took advantage of this mistake as he completed the most memorable fightback giving DoubleDuty a very hard-earned 3 points.

This win puts Double Duty at the top of Pool A and leaves Amaravagali languishing at the bottom.

MoM: SnakeFufy for playing intelligently, sledging slightly when required and playing delicate shots precisely under pressure while guiding his team-mate superbly throughout the game.

Sutta Boys defeat GCG in a nail-biter

The Sutta Boys defeated GCG 29-28 making it 2 wins in a row and showing once again why they are the favorites from Pool B . The Sutta Boys raced off to a 15-0 lead thanks to some very good pocketing by both UppiFufy and BassFufy . The GCG group consisting of ForeignFufy and SlowFufy then regrouped and won a series of boards earning 2-3 points since the queen was taken by Sutta Boys each time. However by the 10th board , GCG had extended their lead to 11 points as the score stood at 26-15 . Then the Sutta Boys played a superb board and won 8 points. The score stood at 26-23. ForeignFufy came into his own in the next board and GCG won the board getting 3 points. The score now stood at 28-23 in favour of GCG. GCG just needed to win the board and the Sutta Boys needed to win with the queen. Sutta Boys quickly pocketed 6 coins . However at this juncture ForeignFufy missed an easy chance to pocket the queen which inturn was done successfully by BassFufy. Then BassFufy needed to make a rebound to win the game. A lot of time was spent on the last shot . However the rebound was made and GCG defeated.

Highlights: 1. BassFufy: "Maga, this is the most tense I have ever felt in an FPL match."
2. SlowFufy to ForeignFufy : " Eh , Make some shots atleast da. Aetallo opened the scoring, with ConFufy in great nick and ably supported by BitchFufy.

Sutta Boys came into their stride once the early nerves were settled, DumbassFufy and UppiFufy comfortably pocketing coins. Midway through the game, there was a hint of a comeback from Aetallo as the score stood 18-15 in favour of Sutta Boys. From this point, Sutta Boys stamped their class, as they romped home to victory, with a huge point difference of 14.
Final score: 29-15 to Sutta Boys.

Sutta Boys have made their intention of going for the title very clear and the rest of the teams in the group have to play catch up with them.

FPL Season 2 Groups

<table style="border-collapse: collapse; Both FatFufy and CondyFufy had made rapid strides in their game hoping to challenge the best in the business. On the other had SnakeFufy and HeavyDutyFufy had found other ways to spend time, atleast till 9:30. Hence "Thunder Tiger" is now "Double Duty".

KUndi Shot were still looking for their first win in FPL, the only team not to win a single game. And quite appropriately they finished at the Kundi of the table in last season's FPL.

And so the match began , with the entire college watching it in their rooms through the newly introduced Webcast ( Hawkeye and HotSpot to follow) . Double Duty stormed into the lead winning the first board by 10 points to none. Kundi shot were struggling but soon fought back bravely in the next 4 boards with some impeccable clearing by FatFufy. After 5 boards the newly installed scoreboard read 24-13 in the favour of KUndi SHot.

CondyFufy and FatFufy were sensing there first ever win in FPL history. But !@#$$% Double Duty had other plans. HeavyDutyFufy's executed SnakeFufy's plans to perfection bringing them back into the contest thrashing Kundi SHot in successive boards to make it 20-24 and 28-24.

Kundi Shot just couldn't believe what was happening to them. It was deja vu. Double Duty were quick off the blocks in what was to be the last board of the game leaving the hapless Kundi Shot to surrender to SnakeFufy and HeavyDutyFufy for the second time.

Final score : Double Duty 29-24 Kundi SHot

Man of the match : SnakeFufy , for bringing the best out of HeavyDutyFufy

Kundi Shot play newly inducted IE(EE) next hoping to open their account. Its long overdue
now.

SuGu beat Amaravagali 29-25

FPL 2 began with Sugu showing why they were one of the favourites to win season 1 as they deservedly won against the SVM Combo of Middle-Age and Dull Fufy. The match began at rapid pace as SuGu won a big board with 9 points. Amaravagali then made a comeback of sorts winning the next board with 6 points, but Sugu always had the upper hand and after some time were leading by 19 points to 10. At this point, Dull Fufy showed incredible form and played some great shots to get Amaravagali a lead; the score was 25-19 in favour of Amaravagali. But in the next 2 boards, it was business as usual for SuGu who steamrolled their way past their opposition in one board and then, Middle Age Fufy burnt the next board to hand SuGu a very valuable 3 points. Can Sugu actually win FPL Season 2? But that was as far as it went, with the SuGu team taking the next to make it 16-1, and the next one to take an unassailable lead of 25-1. Two boards later, it was all over, as SuGu marched home to victory, while BassFufy still sat, wondering what had just happened to the match. The entire match witnessed the crowd that had gathered trying to sledge Gu mercilessly, taunting him about his GREing skills. Gu did make a comeback of sorts, taunting MiddleAgeFufy about his trip with the Replete pal(my a**!!) to a movie(with the unwanted CONdomFufy tagging along). This proved ineffective however, as Gu played brilliantly at crucial stages, something that can definitely not be said about UppiFufy, who caved in when he had a brilliant chance to salvage the game for the Boys. In the end, SuGu prevailed, and look forward to their next, against the Master-Baiters....

TieOnTees send the Gandhis marching

The TieOnTies beat NITK-Gandhis 29-24 in a match that saw Greater Gandhi in brilliant form.
Though the Gandhis made a brilliant comeback from a 21-0 situation to bring the score to 21-24, they could not bear the merciless shots of Beemboy who took the game away from them.
Though the match did not witness characteristic Beemers from Beemboy, some of the shots were simply stunning and had the Gandhi twins squinting through their spectacles. The individual boards were extremely close, and the scoreline was cruel on Kundi Shot, who played fairly well. Fat-Fufy was back in form with some coins taking the aerial route to the pouch. Master-Baiters are now top of the league having won all of their games so far.

Highlights:

1. Sutta Boys took the first board with a lone point . PresII came back strongly taking a lead of 9-1 and extending it to 16-1 . Subsequent scores were 16-7 , 16-8 , 18-8 , 24-8, 24-15 , 24-21 , 25-21 . At this juncture , BassFufy made 2 coins in a row and had a chance to finish the match with 3 coins of PresII left. However , some good sledging techniques were used by PondyFufy referring to attendance shortages of Sutta Boys and Bass Fufy missed the rebound . Sutta Boys did win the board but got 6 points for it , making the score 25-27 . PondyFufy found good form in the next board and PresII won the board with 3 points taking the score to 28-27 . A considerable crowd had gathered by now and RebelStarFufy broke the board pocketing two and then PondyFufy followed by taking the queen and having to make 3 coins compared to Sutta Boys' 8 . UppiFufy ( formerly EarthFufy) pocketed 4 coins in a row , getting the game even closer. Then RebelstarFufy whacked the striker clearing the remaining 2 coins for the Sutta Boys . BassFufy made the first one which was a straight shot. The second shot was the most thought over shot of the match since it was a very fine cut and the audience wasn't helping , continually referring to Dean, Academic Affairs. However , the cut was made and PresII beaten , a match which they probably should have won .

MoM : UppiFufy for playing well under pressure in the last 2 boards.

PresII rule against SuGu

Class. Action. Drama. The match that had it all. In an encounter that swung wildly from side to side, PresII overcame SuGu 29-28, giving the audience a match to remember.

It began with PresII walking away with 8 points before SuGu could even register what was happening. Things kept proceeding the way of the PresII team till the score reached 26-16. It was here that the drama began. With PondyFufy in sublime form, pocketing coins with unbelievable precision, and never once making a break without pocketing the next three coins, and RebelStarFufy ably backing him, PresII looked unstoppable. SuGu's form had slumped to an all-time low, and it looked like they were already on their way out. SuGu finally woke up, and began every succeeding board just hoping to stay in the game. An awesome comeback ensued, the scores reading 26-16, 26-17, 26-18, 26-19, 26-21, and finally, after many boards, SuGu pocketed the queen to take the lead 28-26. BlackFufy tried tactics as black as himself throughout the match, managing to burn SuGu to a colour as black as himself, to no avail. PresII, displaying stunning shotmaking, took the next board, to set the score at 27-28. PondyFufy, strengthened by several bread omelettes, and RebelStarFufy, who had been given juice-drinking lessons by FatFufy, whizzed through the last board, before Black decided to hand it to them by burning SuGu yet again, ending the game 29-28.

Memorable Moments:

FatFufy, who had earlier apologized profusely for not being able to play when Knurd asked him to, stood for the entire duration of the match, continuously supporting/sledging the players, and of course, rubbing his well-known tummy. Again.

Player of the match: PondyFufy. GCG capitalized on this, and with Nut playing better and better, took the next board with 6 points, taking the lead 9-8. Panicking slightly at Nut's never-before-seen carrom prowess, SuGu got their act together to take 11 points in the next board to go up 19-9, and then took 6 to reach 25. With SlowFufy and the Nut displaying bad team chemistry from here, the task became easier for SuGu, who wrapped up the game in the next board.

Memorable moments and Quotable Quotes:

FatFufy, who had earlier apologized profusely for not being able to play when Knurd asked him to, stood for the entire duration of the match, continuously supporting/sledging the players, and of course, rubbing his well-known tummy.

SlowFufy: "Burm, just keep the striker there, and..."
NutFufy: "NO!"
SlowFufy: "But just.. As part of the pre-match bonding session, SuGu and the Thunder Tigers had been to GC (Ganesh Canteen) to eat some meen. While HeavyDuty and Knurd chose to concentrate on the food, BlackFufy and SnakeFufy began sledging each other liberally in their native tongue. These dirty tactics continued when the teams returned and squared off in a (not)much-anticipated match-up. SuGu took the opening board with 9 points, and extended their lead to 15 in the next. Snake indulged in match-delaying tactics like changing the position of his bucket, the cushion on the bucket, the cushion itself, the quantity of powder on his hands, his underwear, his shirt.... pretty much everything his mind could conjure... but to no avail. The best the Tigers could do was to steal 3 points from the game, before Su decided enough was enough, and pocketed coins liberally. Gu joined the hunt, and eventually sent the Tigers packing 29-3. SuGu climb back to the top with a healthy points difference, and now await the return of the Master-Baiters.

Memorable moments:

BassFufy(who was managing the music) : "Aetello! Displaying immense skill and finnesse, Sutta boys started off with a bang racing away to a lead of 8-0. The battle henceforth was a game of see-saw, each teams alternately winning individual frames till the score reached 18-15. At this point EarthFufy decided that the time has come to go for the kill and played brilliantly to take the score to 27-15. Some amazing shotmaking by Pig in the subsequent board promised a comeback, as the scoreline stood at 27-21. BassFufy missed a golden opportunity to finish off the game in style, but crumbled under pressure. All was left to EarthFufy to finish off matters which he did it in style pocketing the queen and a rebound to finish things off.
With this win, Sutta Boys go on top of table, albeit having played an extra match. Things are hotting up for the top teams.

Memorable Quotes:
Gym: "I'm sucking today da....."
Pig: "Don't give reasons for not playing well!!!"

BassFufy: "Sorry maga, I couldn't pocket the coin. It was the much-anticipated IT derby, however, this match witnessed the least crowd in the entire of FPL. The match began with TieOnTee playing decently and competing strongly with the Baiters in individual boards. But, sadly, they could not finish off the boards, and the score was in favour of the Master-Baiters 24-0.

After this, the match was dominated by TieOnTee as the Master-Baiters struggled to play even the simplest of shots. In fact,Rebound Fufy had lost so much of confidence that hecould not even pocket coins next to the pouch. This had a reverse effect on TieOnTee as Beem-Boy and Tech-Boy displayed an array of stunning shots, causing the score to come back to 28-19. Even the last board of the match was extremely close with both the teams having 1 coin each along with the queen. Beem-Boy,trying to play another great shot, made a mistake and burnt the board thus giving the Master-Baiters a hard-earned victory.

Highlights of the game:

1. Beem-Boy playing a stunning third pocket shot, which was given a pseudo-standing ovation by the spectators.
2. The rowdy crowd giving the Master-Baiters a suckdingy to remember for the rest of their lives.

Player of the Match:

Beem-Boy

Pigym end Sugu pride parade

To everyone's relief and some exhibiting it very openly , the smokin' hot duo of Knurd-Fufy and Black-Fufy were beaten by a very professional looking Pigym team . Pig was in supreme form , helped ably ( ! ) by Gym who managed to get the queen twice with extraordinary shots. Clean cuts , Super charges , Perfect rebounds - Pigym had it all . They took the lead 6-0 and the scores were 12-0 , 12-6 , 18-6, 18-12 and the final score was 29-20 . Team Sugu took turns at being good and that's where Pig exploited them . With this victory , Pigym have sent out a message to the favourites .

Highlights :

1. Sledging was not used by Sugu against Gym, which the other teams have found to be effective.
2. Knurd-Fufy's moans of frustration at Black's misses.
3. Knurd's reaction to Black's 'Put-Put' : 'Pig will do Putt-Putt-Putt if I miss' .

Player of The Match : The Opener . The match began with the Sutta Boys taking the lead 6-0 courtesy a Moon Burn . The Sutta boys extended their lead to 13-0 quickly and Bonus Point discussion ensued. But the Sutta Boys were denied by some clean hitting by Stone-Fufy who managed to scrape a point for the Moons. The Moons were ecstatic on the lone point and High-Fives ensued . The Sutta Boys , somewhat dejected began a series of one sided games and subsequent scores were 18-1 , 25-1 . 28-1 and they swept the last board. The Sutta Boys are happy with their Point Difference and a SuGu defeat will put them on the top of the table .

Highlights :

1. The match went on for 15 boards and lasted 3.5 hours, and by the time it ended Baby-Fufy had matured into Middle-Age Fufy. Though the TieonTees were left gasping for air by some of BeemBoy's logics, the team managed to survive the game and outdo the Moons. One of the spectators, our very own Con-Fufy dozed off twice despite wanting to cheer the two teams on and give them encouragement. The tension began to rise when SuGu managed to reach 21, with Aetalle! still at 13. BlingFufy then began showing true class, and slowed down the match, taking the score to 21-18. With a chance of finishing the match at this stage, Su pocketed one of Aetalle!'s coins, causing Gu to leap out of his seat. In the next three boards, the score reached 28-27, with Su generously pocketing all coins, irrespective of colour, age, race and sex. In a superb fightback, the Master-Baiters won the tie 29-28 against the in-form Sutta Boys.

The match began with Bass-Fufy threatening to sledge against the Master-Baiters to divert their attention, especially trying to annoy the Baiters' Goan/Rebound Fufy. Little did he know that it would come back to bite him in the ass later on. The first few boards were completely dominated by the Sutta Boys, who were playing with great confidence and co-ordination. The player who did the most damage in the initial stages was Bass-Fufy who was pocketing coins with incredible ease, taking the score to 13-0 in favour of the Sutta Boys.

It was at this time, that the fightback began, with Rebound Fufy, suddenly appearing bright and colourful(like his usual self),and brought the score to 13-9. This again brought out a response from the Sutta Boys as Prithvi became the hero, and yet again the match was in favour of the Sutta Boys 21-13. Now, the stage was set for Middle-Age Fufy to come into the fore and display some stunning shot-making and suddenly the score was 28-28.

Fingers trembling, all the players managed to somehow play in the last board with nervousness appearing in each shot. As the board entered its final phase, Rebound Fufy managed to pocket both the queen and the cover coin thus helping Master-Baiters win one of the greatest matches of all time!

Highlights of the game:

1. Bass-Fufy annoying Rebound/Goan Fufy by clapping his hands, imitating a Eunuch.

2. An argument between Bass-Fufy and Middle-Age Fufy about sportsmanship and fair play.

Player of the match:

Middle-Age Fufy, for playing well when it mattered most..

Opening and Hitting fails to faze Aetello Boys

Demonstrating clinical shot-making Aetello Boys stormed to their second consecutive victory in FPL. As promised earlier, BeamBoy and TechFufy did indulge in mind-games, taking more than 10 minutes on an average per point, driving Su up the wall regularly. After the first board, which SuGu took with 9 points, Tech and BeamBoy stole the next one, and there was general jubilation, while they did a tie-high-five. Tech did come up with a few brilliant shots, which delayed the defeat. One of them featured Tech aiming for 2 white coins near a pocket, and managing to send the 2 black coins nearby into the opposite pockets (For future references, this is called the "Dillu" shot). The game also featured a raucous audience that had just returned from Akshaya Bar, comprising BassFufy and Middle-Age-Fufy, whose chief motive was to sledge the players, while Goan/ReboundFufy concentrated on squeezing Tech lovingly against his crotch and professing undying love for him, which is what, according to Tech, caused his inspired playing.

Can SuGu continue their dream run though, with Su slipping in form somewhat, and Gu's form being as black as him? Only time will tell.
Coming up next, Aetalle go up against Pigym, and try to show us why they're the best.

Player of the match: TechFufy, for inventing the "Dillu" shot, and setting himself in a different league of carrom players.

Cheers!
KnurdFufy

Introducing . . . The match began at snail's pace, as both teams struggled to take the queen and dominate individual boards. As a result, in the first 4 boards, the score was 5-0 to the Thunder Tigers. Some great shot-making by Condy-Fufy ensured that Kundi shot was back on track as they scored 7 points in the 5th board. This board brought the game into life as Heavy-Duty Fufy and Phani(from now on, known as Snake-Fufy) pocketed plenty of coins and as a result, a lot of points. However, Condy-Fufy was not to be left behind and took control of the game (his patner,Fat-Fufy, not responding to Condy's loud abusive statements) and brought the score to 21-16. At this point, Heavy-Duty Fufy was getting very late for his GB duty and decided to end the matter once and for all. The Tigers co-ordinately brilliantly and got 8 points in this last board, thus winning the tie 29-16.

Kundi Shot will have to get together and discuss the next match, as there were many arguments between Condy and Fat Fufy. However, they still continue to be strong contenders for the FPL, as Fat Fufy's form is unpredictable. On his day, Fat-Fufy can be the best player in the FPL and is not to be counted out because 'Form is temporary, Class is permanent'.

New Feature:

Player of the Match : Snake-Fufy, for inspiring his team to a win after a disastrous start.

Master-Baiters beat Thunder Tigers 29-6

The Master-Baiters began their FPL campaign with a thumping victory against the Thunder Tigers. Right from the beginning, The Master-Baiters were clinical and within no time, they raced to a score of 28-0 against the hapless Tigers. However, some inspired play by Phani and some good common-sense shown by Heavy-Duty Fufy helped the Tigers stage a strong comeback and win a board with 6 points. This fightback did not last for long and in the next board, the Master-Baiters completed their crushing win with a scoreline of 29-6 and made sure that their point difference remained really high. Things are looking bleak for the Thunder Tigers who have now lost 2 out of 2 games. They need to turn things around really fast to avoid further embarrassment.

Sutta Boys make GCG drink coffee!

Sutta Boys ( also read as Aida-alle ) defeated the GCG team of BD and Burm in a match that went down right to the wire. All in all, Bunty says it was a good experience.
Trivia : Kundi shot also known as Full Moon Shot , which also explains the recent GB fascination with Bunty.

Sutta Boys win a thriller!

After going neck and neck till 20-18 ,Thunder Tigers buckle under pressure to give Sutta Boys a well-deserved win.
